I like the firetoad but the original pose just wasn't dynamic enough, and I thought I could improve on it by having it charge through/over a metal fence.
I've concentrated here on the basing/posing rather than repainting the firetoad (I'm sure the paint job could be improved and I'll get round to that at some point!)
side view, note the fence bent over by the knee pushing through it (actually in reality it holds the figure up)

Nice man.
Yeah, get some paint on it and turn it into a real nice mini.
It's funny, after several years of static toads this looks a bit odd at first, but the reality is that toads must look like this when they move, given their relative speed! I like it. |

thanks
my mini painting skills are a bit rusty as you can tell from this:
Its been a few years since I did any, I got far to busy getting paid to do CGI illustration and design stuff for Babylon 5 Wars
I'm just finishing a Hekat atm (which is far more ambitious than the firetoad) and re-sculpting a Heroclick mini to make a civilian Karman. |

|
|
thanks
FYI in case anyone is wondering I'm colour coding the bases of my UNA infantry units to make them easier to identify in play hence the red base for a leader figure.
Red- leaders
Blue - Mechanics
White - Medic
Green - Combat engineers
Black - std troops and support weapons
support weapons are easy to spot! Although I'm toying with the idea of red/black stripes for one support weapon for when they are deployed as a support team it will designate the leader figure, but not be confusing when deployed in a normal squad. |

Very nice conversion work there Max, and the Hekat too (see other thread) . . . very nice indeed. Kudos!
I toyed with the idea of color-coding my UNAs as well, then decided it would be too easy for the RB snipers to pick-out just exactly who they wanted to pick-off.
I did go so far as to flock my Stars different from my Steels and Wings and Shocks though . . . makes 'em easy to scoop up and bulk-bin for the next game day. _________________ "Time flies like an arrow, fruit flies like a banana." -Groucho Marx My AT-43 Workshop

I ummed and ahhed over that point, I did consider just painting the backhalf of the base colour coded... which would also be useful if I use the minis in other games with 180degree arcs, and I may well do this. At the end of the day though the sniper player should be picking his targets carefully, and I'd rather it was quickly clear to me when moving that I'd put stuff in the best positions, as this helps speed play. |
