Hello,
i would like to share with you some pics of the project i`m working right now, i saw a bunch of fine Therian building but no one already posted something about humans Cool

basically it`s a modular table, right now is composed of just two tiles 60cm X 60cm but i`m looking forward to add more elements

about half of the space is covered by two buildings made of foamcard (they are not finished yet) and the other half is open ground (the streets nearby the building)

the building have a removable back so i can put the minis where i want inside the house

i also made a some trees to make more interesting the table, they are made of twisted metal wire and they will be covered with milliput and then painted

i still need to figure out what is the best way to put some texture on the buildings (i was thinking about using the roughcoat spray from the "other" company Very Happy ) and how to paint them... maybe i`ll use an airbrush for the cover and i`ll "drybrush" the textured surface to make it look real

i`m also thinking about creating some graffiti and some signposts to give a more realistic look to the city...

of course feel free to comment!

You can make therian buildings from any trash and paint it black.^^
Yours is real architecture and much harder to build. Thatīs the reason for less human houses. Laughing

[Edit: Does not mean that i donīt like therian design^^]

Good work!
Iīll send you a PM , watch out!

Wow Shocked That looks like a lot of work, but it was worth it!

What I really like about this is that the buildings actually seem to be in a relatively realistic scale, as opposed to the small sections or ruined corners I'm used to seeing!
What's better is, it's not just a big box, there's actually several floors and an interesting rooftop! (not sure how tricky playing between levels would be, but the option makes it great Wink )

Another option apart from graffiti is to make the whole complex pristine. Ultra clean, a portion of UNA or Red Blok progress.

That would make the addition of an alien force a stunning and emotional contrast on the battlefield IMO.

Wow, impressive. I'm not sure where you're located, but if you want an alternative to GW roughcoat, in US auto shops you can find an auto body filler/primer spray paint. They usually aren't quite as "rough", but they're about half the price.

For textured paint I use the spray can stuff people use for producing faux stone texture produced by Krylon and called 'Make it Stone'.

OMG!!!! That is really good and looks like it is from an engineering school project. This looks great for UNA vs Red Block. Can't wait to see it complete.

Will the internals have all the emenities an alternate future should have?

Thanks for all your feedbacks Very Happy

actually i'd like to give to make it looks like an abandoned city, the players should be able to recognize some realistic architecture (i'm using as referenece some really existing buildings in my city) but i don't want to make it too clean because it should match my existing gaming tiles.
And also i think it's more interesting to play in a dense terrain with debris, smashed vehicles and all sorts of cover this is why i'm building a city that has been abandoned for some reason (maybe a nearby alien invasion) and not a brand new city complex
anyway an ultra clean design it's an option that i can consider for my next piece of the city... i'm thiking about something really big (like a huge skyscraper) and i can use a cleaner design for upper levels

i'll try to check in my local hobby store... maybe i'll find something online too.

i'm planning to put some smashed stuff inside to provide some cover (not too much otherwise it would be very difficult to play) the windows will have also broken glasses and some rooms will have some amenities... the corner section of the second building will be a local office of the "Ava Daily" newspaper so i'm planning to put inside some desks and a big signpost on the exterior (i'm still working on the final design, i'll post some pics as soon as i have something nice to show)
On the rooftop of the second bulding there will be also a landing pad for sci-fi helicopters Very Happy

Wow, that is amazingly cool, it looks great for small unit tactics. Guerilla style city fighting all the way with lots of cover.

Super job so far.

Something else that would look quite good and fit in with the whole abandoned feeling would be trash, discarded news papers and the like.

Really nice looking terrain (well not nice but "real" I used to live in a block of flats that looked just like that). I wish there was somewhere you could buy stuff like this.

Nice job. You an architectural student/worker?

Do the floors pull off in layers so you game floor to floor?

Actually i`m a software developer Very Happy
just some floors can be removed, i had to find the right balance between details an playability of the buildings... it was also my first project of this kind so i made a few mistakes Embarassed
for example next time i`ll try to put the stairs on the exterior so that player can actually put the models on them, right now they are inside of the buildings a little out of the reach

it`s a good idea. i`m thinking about printing some very small scale versions of the "daily ava" issues available until now and put them around Very Happy

thanks everybody for the good feedbacks, i`m working on the second building now, i`s almost complete and i`ll post some pics by the end of next week
